My Crew

Once again, Lisa Harms took time out of her busy schedule to help me with a book signing when my wife was unable to attend.

The only bad thing about having Lisa help me was the fact that she kept on bringing up the subject of Harry Potter over and over and over...

(I can't STAND Harry Potter!)

The store owner, Laura Krogmeier, reading a Harry Potter book after she found out from Lisa that I'm not exactly thrilled to death about being overshadowed by that series at every book signing...
Karen was the first to get a book signed, and the first person I had met all day who didn't mention the name Harry Potter.  (Thanks, Karen!)
Jackie bought a copy of Fleet of Angels for the little ones to read, I believe.

One thing is for sure . . . Jackie is about as nice as they come, and her heart is about as large as Texas.

Does anyone see Janet hiding among the little readers?
Stephanie buys a copy of FOA for the entire Krogmeier family.
Camille poses with a copy of her soon-to-be-favorite science fiction novel.  Tom, her father, stood off to the side because he didn't want to be in the picture.

(Probably off reading a Harry Potter book somewhere... )

Laura, if I see you holding up one more Harry Potter book, I think I'll just SCREAM!!
Gary buys a copy of Fleet of Angels for Diane . . . I hope he reads it also.
Lisa Harms . . . trying to be cute by reading another Harry Potter book when the store was a little shy of customers.  If Lisa hadn't sacrificed so much by helping me with this book signing, I think I would have strangled her...
At the end of the book signing, I told Lisa that she could go ahead and take pictures of whatever she wanted as long as they didn't show any Harry Potter books.

So what does she do?

Lisa takes a picture of a  wizard and a witch...

(Is there never any justice?)

All the jokes about the Harry Potter books aside, the book signing at Laura Krogmeier's store was a lot of fun, one that will stand out in my mind forever.  Laura turned out to be a very pleasant and professional lady who went FAR out of her way to make this book signing as enjoyable for Lisa and me as possible.  She had cookies and drinks ready for everyone to enjoy, and Laura even went as far as to join Lisa in passing out my business cards to everyone in nearly every store in the downtown area.  Again, this was just another example of how nice and friendly the people are in the Haxtun/Holyoke areas of Colorado.  I really believe there is no place finer on the face of this planet.

Laura, from the bottom of my heart . . . thank you for being the fantastic person that you are.  And The Inklings Book Store gets five stars as far as I'm concerned.
