EPIC-CON 2013

September 28 - 29, 2013

Dayton Airport Expo Center

This was a first-year convention, so naturally, turnout was fairly low.  This happens with ALL conventions in their first year.  However, everyone who was there had a great time.  I met a lot of interesting people, had a lot of fun, and made a profit.  Not a bad way to spend a weekend.  :)  Some of the activities included an AutoCross and Drifting outside, Cosplay, a car show, an entire room devoted to video gaming and more.  Truth be told, this show was more organized than some established conventions I've been to in the past . . . and, there was a lot more to do!  Yeah, I want to thank the organizers for putting together a great show!

The convention was about ready to start, and I was all ready to make some sales!  Actually, I cheated . . . I set up my table the day before the convention started!  lol
Tiana, my top promo model, decided to sell baked goods at the convention.  Over the weekend, she made almost as much as I did when I was selling COOL stuff!  lol

These two ladies are members of the D-20 Promo team.  They were selling Tiana's baked goods for her and did a great job!  Uh, I think I was their best customer!  Hey!  It wasn't my fault!  Tiana makes great cookies!  lol

This is one of the vendors!
This is William Adams.  His wife, Barbara, is the lady portraying the Wife of Frankenstein.  William portrays characters for parties, grand openings, special events and so on.

Need to hire him for an event?  It's easy, and his prices are very reasonable!

Yeah, yeah, I know . . . this is the first time I'm running an ad on any of my event pages.  All I can say is, William deserves it - he impressed me that much!

The lady is Shana Mostella, a model and actress out of the
Chicago area.
Two more vendors.  I wish I could remember their names...
These people must spend a fortune on some of these costumes!
This guy did an amazing job of portraying Spider-Man!
This guy was around 8 or 9 feet tall!
Jason . . . unmasked!
One of the models for the car show.
A tribute car for the Tuskegee Airmen, from their Dayton chapter.
Group shot of some of the vendors!
The Stay Puff Marshmellow munchkin!  This little kid was hanging around my table trying to scare people!  LOL
One of the D-20 promo models - I should have, but I never asked her for her name... (Sigh)
One of the D-20 promo models - again . . . I never asked for a name.
One of the D-20 promo models, Gigi.  This girl is almost as sweet as those chocolate brownies she was selling for Tiana!

MAN!  Those brownies were good!  I swear, they had to be richer than Bill Gates!  lol

This is William Adams again.  I'll say this much . . . his costumes are incredibly authentic!

Nadia, one of my favorite models, has always been a big Batman fan.  It didn't take much to convince her to have her picture taken with her favorite super hero!

The convention's over and the other vendors were clearing out, so it was time to pack up . . . and go outside to watch the drifting.  It was incredible!

I should have taken some pictures of the drifting going on outside.  (I know, I'm scum... )
