On this page you will find links to the web sites of nearly every publisher, literary agent and university press in the field. If you happen to stumble across a link that is broken, there's nothing I can do about it. There are so many links on this page, it takes HOURS to find individual links that are broken, and MOST of the time . . . I never find them at all. Sorry.

Our editors are former academics, including Creative Writing teachers, as well as published authors (novels, short fiction, nonfiction collections, academic articles, general readership magazine articles, book reviews, poetry collections), which allows us to also provide personalized mentoring services for creative writers and the authors of theses and dissertations whose advisors are proving less than adequately helpful.
Fees: No job is too big or too small, and our rates are fair and tailored to your needs and to your manuscript. Mentoring, manuscript critique, and consultation rates are also designed for each individual author or corporation. For your peace of mind, we provide a service agreement outlining the particulars of your contracted editorial, writing, research, and mentoring services (with an "out" clause should the facts of your life change sufficiently to require we discontinue the work)-- and your work and our agreement always remain confidential.
Qualifications: Michael McIrvin, founding writer and editor of A-1 Complete Writing and Editing, holds undergraduate degrees with honors in English and Anthropology and an MA in English. He taught university writing and literature courses for more than 12 years and has been a professional editor for 8 years. Michael's novel is available from J-Press Publications (jpresspublishing.com or amazon.com), and his fifth collection of poetry entitled Optimism Blues: Poems Selected and New will be published by Cedar Hill publications (cedarhill_bks@hotmail.com) in March 2002. He is also the author of an essay collection and many articles and reviews.
A-1's clients have included the CTI corporation (software), Rockford Agency (insurance), Penton Technology Media (IT magazines for the industry), and several academic and literary publishers such as The Pannus Index, Black Moon, and Semi-Dwarf Review (among many others).
